CONTINUING EDUCATION

IMPORTANT

This is a “Virtual Conference”. You will need appropriate equipment to participate (i.e. laptop, desktop, etc...)*. You will be required to sign into our Zoom virtual platform by entering your name. Workshops require attendee interaction to verify attendance, chat, Q & A sessions, etc....

 

*We ask that you do not use a cell phone as this may limit your interaction, which may impact your ability to verify your attendance and receive continuing education credit.

VERIFICATION OF ATTENDANCE PROCESS FOR CONTINUING EDUCATION

  1. You MUST log in using your first and last legal name as your profile name (no nicknames). This should also be the name you use when registering.

  2. As attendees log in and out for each session, it is documented with a time stamp.

  3. You will not receive CE credit for a session if you log in more than 10 minutes after a session starts. 

  4. Moderators will be available to monitor attendance at sessions as well as chat room activity.

  5. A confirmation code will be given at the end of the session to note on CE evaluation form.

  6. Evaluations will be matched up with time stamps and moderator’s attendance logs for sessions before CE Certificates are granted.

Participants should download the CE Acknowledgment Form. To receive a CE certificate, this form MUST be completed and emailed to FTC Prevention Services at info@ftcpreventionservices.com by October 8th. If you do not complete this form and send in, you WILL NOT receive a certificate.

As a part of the application process to become approved to offer continuing education credits/units at the Mississippi Trauma-Informed Care Virtual Conference, the Mississippi Department of Mental Health and FTC Prevention Services agreed to adhere to the policies and procedures of each individual credentialing board. Neither DMH nor FTC Prevention Services has the authority to deviate from the agreed upon processes.

 

Participants must attend approved sessions in their entirety to receive credit for session attendance and complete an evaluation for each one attended. DMH and FTC Prevention Services are not responsible for participants’ inability to access the virtual platform or evaluation links due to computer or internet issues that may originate with the participants computer, Internet access, or agency security settings. It is the responsibility of the participant to ensure their ability to access and maintain access to the conference virtual platform and sessions.

The educational portion of this activity is presented by the Mississippi Department ef Mental Health. Continuing education is a separate registration which is required at the beginning if the conference.

  • The 2021 Trauma Informed Care Virtual Conference is approved for a total of 14.25 CE hours for the following DMH credentials administered through PLACE: Mental Health Therapist, Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities Therapist, Addictions Therapist, Community Support Specialist, Peer Support Specialist and Licensed Administrator.

  • The Marriage and Family Therapy Continuing Education Committee of the MSBOESWMFT has approved 2021 Trauma Informed Care Virtual Conference for 14.5 general hours for marriage and family therapists. The approval number is #MS021-025.

  • Jackson State University, College of Public Service School of Social Work, is approved as a provider (#SWCU1203) by the Mississippi Board of Examiners for Social Workers and Marriage & Family Therapists. They maintain responsibility for the educational program. Social Workers may receive up to 14.25 hours for full attendance/successful completion in this course.

  • Mississippi Association of Addiction Professionals (MAAP) has approved the 2021 MS Trauma-Informed Care Virtual Conference for 14.5 Online Hours for the following credentials:  CIC, CADC (I & II), CAADC, CCS, ACS, CPS, CPM, CCJA, CCJP. Approval No. 21-001.

 

  • The 2021 Mississippi  Trauma Informed  Care  Conference  has  been  approved  by  the National Board for Certified Counselors for NBCC credit.  Sessions approved for NBCC credits are clearly identified. The Mississippi Department of Mental Health is solely responsible for all aspects of the program. NBCC Approval  No. SP-3705 
     

The following sessions are approved for NBCC Credit:  A3, K4, B3, C1 and K6
The following sessions are not approved for NBCC Credit:  A1- A2, A4-A5, B1-B2, B4-B5, C2-C5, K1-K3, K5 and K7-K8.

  • Mississippi State Board of Nursing Home Administrators has approved 11.25 CE Hours for the 2021 MS Trauma-Informed Care Virtual Conference. Sessions approved include:

Breakout sessions:  A-2, A-4, A-5, B-1, B-4, B-5. C-1, C-2, C-3, C-5​

  • The Office of Continuing Education at Mississippi College has approved the Mississippi Trauma-Informed Care Conference  for the 1.4 CEU hours. Partial CEU credit cannot be awarded. Participants must attend the entire conference. Participants are required to download and complete the Request for Continuing Education Units form and remit it with a $15.00 check or money order within six months of the last day of the conference to:
